Error/Answer (no connection to laser)

• There may be a defective interface at the PC. Best is to test the system with another PC or interface.
• Check, whether data entries in the file target.ini correspond to the interfaces of the PC, or not.
• Check, whether original cab connecting cables to connect laser system and PC have been used, or not.
• According to the protective circuit only three wires are required in the connecting cable: RXT, TXT, Ground.
• Functioning of the serial interface must be provided by corresponding links in the plug on the part of the PC (i.e. DSR and CD must be kept on positive voltage (in general the DTR signal provided by the PC itself).
• Additionally, it is a precondition that the interface in Windows is operated without handshake, i.e. with XON/XOFF handshake.
• In particular cases cutting off that cables which are not required may be successful.

Target.ini

Each laser system has its own configuration file, which is called Target.ini. At the installation of a new software or laser system, it is most important to keep to the following procedure:
• Uninstall the old laser software by means of the un-installation tool provided by Windows, usually in the menu settings/system control/software.
• Un-zip the software supplied and save the file into a temporary directory. Usually, the zip file contains a msi file and a Target.ini file.
• Check, whether the Target.ini file already installed belongs to your laser system. If required, you have to copy the corresponding Ini file into that directory in which you copied the installation file *.msi. Delete the Target.ini files which do not belong to your laser system.
• Start the msi-file by double click in the explorer
• In case the target.ini file has not been installed in your Windows directory, you can copy the file by yourself. However, make sure that the settings of that file correspond to the interfaces of your PC. The file can be edited by means of the MS Editor or MS Wordpad.

No laser beam

Contacts 1,2 Chamber Interlock or 3,4 Shutter Interlock are not connected thus causing interruption of protective circuit and non-opening of shutter. In case of activation by an emergency-stop relay be aware of a possible time delay. The contact Chamber is not visualized in the software. Displaying Chamber corresponds to the status of the signal Interlock.
